Practical Information for Parents
Kit & Equipment
- Training – Kids should wear football boots or trainers, and shin guards. A drink to keep well hydrated is also essential
- Matches – Once registered, players will receive a club match day and training kit provided by Coatbridge City FC. We ask that parents ensure children bring it clean and ready for games. Please be aware that this kit is owned by the club and should be treated as such.
- Extras – We recommend a light jacket and gloves/hat in colder months.
Parking & Drop-Off
- Training sessions and matches take place at local pitches in Coatbridge. Parking is available, but spaces can be limited when busy.
- Please allow extra time for drop-off and collection, and avoid blocking driveways or emergency access.
- Younger children should always be accompanied to and from the pitch by an adult.
What to Bring to Training & Matches
- A refillable water bottle (labelled with your child’s name).
- Shin guards (essential for safety).
- Football boots/trainers suited to the surface (grass, 3G, or astro).
- Weather-appropriate clothing – sun cream and a hat in summer, waterproofs and warm layers in winter.
- A positive attitude and a smile!

What age groups do you run teams for?
We currently run teams for kids born in 2013 (Girls) and 2015, 2019 and 2020.
How do I register my child?
Simply visit our Contact Us page and fill out the enquiry form. A member of our coaching team will get in touch with the next steps, including available spaces and training details.
Do coaches have the right qualifications?
Yes! All of our coaches are SFA qualified, hold the appropriate coaching badges for their age group, and are fully PVG checked for child safety.
What kit does my child need?
We provide match day and training kits once your child is registered with a team. Also for training, players football boots or trainers, and shin guards.
How much does it cost to join?
Membership fees vary depending on the age group, but we keep costs as affordable as possible. Fees cover pitch hire, equipment, and insurance. Details are available from your team coach.
Where and when do training sessions take place?
Training is held weekly at local pitches in Coatbridge. Times and places may vary by age group.
How can parents get involved with the club?
There are plenty of ways to help, from volunteering at events to joining the committee, assisting with fundraising, or even helping with coaching. Every bit of support makes a huge difference.

What is expected of parents?
