Founded in 2024, Coatbridge City FC exists to deliver positive, inclusive youth football for the entire community.
We are proudly affiliated with the Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) and follow the Scottish FA’s child-centred player pathway, ensuring that every child’s development comes first. This means our coaching is age-appropriate, inclusive, and focused on creating the best possible environment for young players to learn and thrive.
For us, football is about much more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about giving children the chance to:
- Build lasting friendships and feel part of a supportive team environment.
- Develop confidence both on and off the field, learning how to express themselves in a positive and encouraging setting.
- Grow their football skills, from the basics of passing and dribbling to teamwork and game awareness.
- Have fun – because we believe sport should always be an enjoyable experience.
Whether a child dreams of becoming a professional footballer or simply wants to play with friends, we aim to give every player the same chance to enjoy the game and reach their potential.
Coatbridge City wouldn’t be able to survive if it wasn’t for all our volunteers. We have 16 coaches and 8 committee members who all give up their free time to help the club run. This ensures the club is always run well by people who care about the kids development and well-being.

Our Coaches
All of our coaches are fully Scottish FA qualified, holding the relevant coaching badges for the age groups they lead. Every coach has also completed a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check, so you can be confident your child is in safe hands.
Beyond football skills, our coaches are passionate about developing the whole player—helping children build confidence, teamwork, and leadership qualities that carry into everyday life. They create sessions that are fun, engaging, and tailored to each age group, making sure every player feels valued, supported, and given the chance to thrive both on and off the pitch.

Our Committee
Behind every training session, festival, and matchday is a dedicated group of volunteers who make Coatbridge City FC possible. Our committee members handle everything from organising fixtures and securing pitches to fundraising, safeguarding, and supporting our coaches.
They are the backbone of the club—passionate parents, carers, and community members who give their time to ensure that every child can enjoy football in a safe, welcoming, and well-run environment. By working together, they help keep the club strong today and sustainable for the future.
